CITY OF NAGA, CEBU, 12 July 2024 – After the week-long talents and skills competition, Region IV-A (CALABARZON) emerged as overall champion at this year’s National Festival of Talents (NFOT).

Conducted annually by the Department of Education (DepEd), the NFOT provides learners with meaningful opportunities to showcase their diverse talents, skills, and innovative projects on a national stage.

Joining CALABARZON in the roster of overall winners were Region III (Central Luzon) – 1st runner-up; Region XI (Davao Region) – 2nd runner-up; Region V (Bicol Region) – 3rd runner-up; and National Capital Region (NCR) – 4th runner-up.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our contestants in the National Festival of Talents. Whether you’re going home with a gold medal, or silver medal, or a bronze medal, or nothing, our dear learners, in our hearts, you are all champions,” Bureau of Learning Delivery (BLD) Director IV Leila Areola said.

Additionally, Region II (Cagayan Valley) got the Biggest Delegation Region award, while Region XIII (CARAGA) was hailed as the Most Organized Region.

In a ceremonial turnover, DepEd Region VII Curriculum and Learning Management Division Chief Maria Jesusa Despojo, on behalf of Regional Director Salustiano T. Jimenez, passed the NFOT banner to Region I (Ilocos Region) as the 2025 NFOT host region.

“It is imperative that we reflect on its (2024 NFOT) true essence. This event, from its inception to its culmination, has been created and crafted as part of our goal to benefit our learners,” City of Naga Schools Division Superintendent Ronald Gutay.

Director Areola thanked DepEd Region VII, the City of Naga Division, the City Government of Naga and officials, technical working committees, partners and stakeholders, school heads, teacher-coaches, and learner-participants for their valuable contribution to the success of the week-long nationwide talents and skills competition.
