Induction Program for Beginning Teachers (IPBT)

The Induction Program for Beginning Teachers (IPBT), formerly known as the Teacher Induction Program (TIP), is institutionalized to provide a systematic and comprehensive support system for beginning teachers to seamlessly immerse them in the teaching profession in the public school system.

This three-year program covers teachers who are newly hired or with 0-3 years in the public school system to help them demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Department of Education (DepEd), meet expectations as articulated in the Philippine Professional Standards for Teacher (PPST), be immersed in the processes and systems of the public schools, and enhance their teaching practice.

For Year 1, beginning teachers are provided with self-learning coursebooks to be completed within one year. Coursebooks and other program materials can be downloaded through the IPBT portal. bit.ly/neapteacherinduction Other Year 1 activities include coaching and mentoring, differentiated supervision, Learning Action Cells (LACs) and formal classroom observations to be provided by school heads and IPBT mentors, i.e., master teachers, department heads, and other senior teachers.

For Years 2 and 3, beginning teachers receive continued coaching, mentoring, and differentiated supervision from their mentor and school head at least twice per quarter.
