Program Title: Division Training on Pedagogy for Non-English Major Senior High School Teachers
Target Participants:
- A minimum of one year of teaching experience in the Senior High School
- Career Stage 2 Non-English Major Teachers (TI, TII & TIII) teaching English-related subjects in the SHS
Target Professional Standards: PPST 1.1.2, 1.4.2, 1.5.2, 3.1.2, 4.1.2, 4.2.2, 4.5.2
Active Learning Hours: 16 hours and 25 minutes
By the end of the three-day training, the participants will be able to develop a lesson plan that reflects rich content across learning areas and integrates diverse teaching strategies to support the holistic development of learners.
Specifically, the participants will be able to:

- analyze the Language Framework of the Philippine Education System to understand its implications for teaching English;
- apply varied instructional strategies that integrate 21st-century skills in the following areas:
- Listening and Speaking
- Reading Comprehension
- Academic Writing
- Literature
- Creative Fiction and Nonfiction Writing;
- develop a lesson plan that reflects mastery of content knowledge and incorporates innovative teaching approaches to promote holistic learner;
- use innovative strategies that promote learners’ active participation and critical thinking through demonstration teaching; and
- exhibit a positive attitude toward fostering effective teaching practices that enhance both academic and life skills.
