The Child Protection Specialization Course was held on November 13-18, 2022 in Tagaytay City, Cavite. It is a 5-day Training Workshop with the aim of reinforcing the preventive, corrective, and remedial measures for child protection and professionalizing the child protection roles of the Central Office, Regional Office, and Schools Division Office focal persons.


The Workshop on the Refinement of Positive Discipline LAC Session Guide was held on October 24-28, 2022 in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. The participants will take important roles of being the specialists, writers, language editors, and illustrators of the session guides.


The Workshop on the Development of Positive Discipline LAC Session Guide was held on October 17-21, 2022 in Cebu City, Cebu. The facilitator conducted a Small Group Discussion (SGD) followed where the participants were grouped according to their assigned session guide under the leadership of a Team Leader.

The SGD aimed to quality assure the Positive Discipline LAC Session Guides. Each team was tasked to go through the assigned LAC Session Guide and suggestions and comments were gathered and reported back in the presence of all participants including the Program Management Team (PMT). From the second day to fourth day, the different teams were very busy looking into their assigned LAC Session Guide, Validation Tool and Guidelines on the Field Validation of Positive Discipline LAC Session Guides.


The Training Workshop on Establishing Functional CPCs (Batch 2) was held on July 25-29, 2022 in Tagbilaran City, Bohol. Participants from Region VI and VII drafted a localized child protection policy for their schools and a panel discussion was conducted to address how the Child Protection Committees (CPCs) can be functional and empowered in ensuring child protection. Concerns on child protection measures and how to strengthen the implementation in their respective schools and communities were discussed and given resolution.

The activity ended with the drafted localized child protection policy, a pledge and commitment to child protection, and awarding of certificates to the resource persons and participants.


The Consultative Workshop on the Development of Positive Discipline LAC Session Guide was held on July 18-22, 2022 in Tacloban City, Leyte. At the end of this workshop, the participants are expected to:

  • Develop Positive Discipline LAC Session Guides;
  • Incorporate the principles of positive discipline on LAC Session Guides; and
  • Aid the teachers in the construction of new knowledge about classroom management as well as in revising traditional beliefs and assumptions about corporal punishment.

    The Training Workshop on Establishing Functional CPCs (Batch 1) was held on April 26-29, 2022 via MS Teams. The active participants were from Region IV-A - CALABARZON and National Capital Region (NCR). It promotes the functionality, establishment, and strengthening of Child Protection Committees through the training-workshop called "Tatag CPC" Program. Mr. Chua and Mrs. Macaguiwa conducted a panel discussion to address how the Child Protection Committees (CPCs) can be functional and empowered in ensuring child protection. Concerns on child protection measures and how to strengthen the implementation in their respective schools and communities were discussed and given resolution.


    The Child Protection Unit revisited the best practices, milestones and the challenges faced by the CPCs during the ten year implementation of the Child Protection Policy (CPP).


    The Ten Years of Child Protection Policy in DepEd (Culminating Event) showcased the milestones, challenges, and best practices from the lenses of the forerunners and partners who have continuously supported the implementation of the Child Protection Policy.


    The Writeshop on the Enhancement of Session Guides on Establishing Functional CPCs was held on April 19-22, 2022 in DepEd MIMAROPA. The attendees reviewed and established the alignment of the session topics to ensure that the Child Protection Committees are aware of their functions and responsibilities.
